Parker Brown • Battery Caption Head

Parker Brown is a musician, arranger, and educator residing in the Ogden area. Parker started his marching career at Weber High where he marched three seasons and served two seasons as center snare both for the outdoor and indoor seasons. After high school Parker spent three years marching with the Weber State Wildcat Band from 2016 – 2018, serving as center snare in the 2018 season. Parker is also an alumni of Weber State Indoor Percussion 2015 – 2017.

Parker started his teaching career as the Percussion Caption Head at Ogden High in 2017. Since joining the percussion team, the percussion section has taken the Outstanding Percussion award in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022 at the state Red Rocks competition. Additionally, the band has won two first place awards, one in 2021 and one in 2022. In 2017 Parker also took over the role as the Program Director for the Ogden High School indoor percussion program. Under his direction Ogden has placed 2nd in 2018, 4th place in 2022, took 1st place at the WGI Regional in 2023, and took first place in 2023 at IMPA Championships. Parker started working with Gold Spike Percussion in 2019, serving as a battery instructor from 2019 - 2021, before accepting the position as the Battery Caption Head in the 2022 season.

 

Brockton Gonzales • Battery Technician

Brock Gonzales grew up in Ogden, Utah, where his love for both music and science took root early. Originally trained in cello and upright bass, his musical focus shifted in high school after a friend introduced him to a YouTube clip of the 2012 Bluecoats. That moment sparked a deep passion for percussion, leading him to dive into every drumming opportunity he could find. After graduating high school in 2015, Brock joined the Weber State University drumline, performing from 2016 to 2020. He also marched with Weber State Indoor Percussion and the debut season of Gold Spike Percussion in 2019. His teaching journey began in 2015, and in 2019, he found his home as the Battery Caption Head at Ogden High School, working alongside Parker Brown and Ashton Allen to build a strong and respected program. In 2023, Brock earned his Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Weber State University. He currently works for an international Research and Development company in Salt Lake City.

Jacki Hunt • Battery Technician

Jacki is an enthusiastic educator who finds purpose in teaching and inspiring students in the performing arts. She has performed with The Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps as part of their front ensemble in 2018 and marched her age-out with Gold Spike Percussion on their bass line in 2022. Jacki has taught with multiple ensembles and has fulfilled several teaching roles including clinician, bass technician, front ensemble technician, student drumline assistant, and percussion caption head. Jacki works at The Piano Place in Farmington, UT as a drumset teacher. She also works with Ogden High School and Gold Spike Percussion. Jacki graduated in 2024 with her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance with an emphasis in Percussion from Utah State University.

Ryan Hunt • Battery Technician

Ryan started his marching career with Ridgeline High School where he played drum set and quads, and served as the percussion captain. He started performing with Weber State Indoor Percussion in 2017 and played quads for Gold Spike's inaugural season in 2019. Ryan also performed with The Battalion in 2018, and the Seattle Cascades in 2019 as a quad drummer. After a short hiatus, he returned in 2023 to age out with Gold Spike. Ryan is currently on working on his Bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science from Concordia St. Paul.

 

Tim Fannin • Cymbal TECHNICIAN

Tim Fannin started his marching journey in 2013 at American Fork High School in American Fork, Utah. There, he marched Baritone 2013-2015, ending his senior year as Brass Captain, as well as 3x State Champion, and 3x BOA Western Regional Champion.

Fannin would continue his marching journey as a founding member of The Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps as a Baritone for 2016-2019, aging out as the Baritone/Euphonium Section leader. During the 2017 season, he also marched Contra with the Blue Knights International Corps as they represented The United States of America in Bahrain (the first drum corps to perform in the Middle East)! Fannin then marched Gold Spike Percussion on 2020 on Cymbals and in 2021 as a Visual Soloist.

Fannin has taught at schools across the state such as: Lehi HS '17-'19, Davis HS '20-'21, and Herriman HS '23 - present. Fannin taught both Visual and Cymbals at Herriman HS in their inaguaral year as an indoor drumline.
